Deleting a branch is permanent. Although the deleted branch may continue to exist for a short time before it actually gets removed, it CANNOT be undone in most cases. Continue?
Phase 2 of the layout adoption: the library's own components eat the vocabulary shipped in #23, before any consumer adopts it. If it can't clean up its own house, it isn't ready for Kagura.
What changed — 12 layout-only scoped rules deleted across 10 components;
NavList.razor.cssdeleted outright (its only rule was layout):.kg-fieldRows Gap="Spacing.Small".kg-tabsRows Gap="Spacing.Large".kg-tabs__panelRows Gap="Spacing.Large"(restores the "boxes touch" fix as markup).kg-navRows Element="nav" Gap="Spacing.Tiny"— keeps the nav landmark.kg-nav__groupRows Gap="Spacing.Tiny".kg-page__bodyRows Gap="Spacing.Large".kg-page__headColumns Gap="Spacing.Medium" Align="Alignment.Center".kg-entries,.kg-entries__actionsRows/Columns(its non-layoutheightstays in CSS).kg-circuit-errorRows Gap="Spacing.Medium".kg-sliderColumns Gap="Spacing.Medium" Align="Alignment.Center".kg-secretColumns Gap="Spacing.Small" Align="Alignment.Center".components-reconnect-containerRows Gap="Spacing.Large" Align="Alignment.Center"Root classes survive verbatim — carried through the splat — so consumer
::deepoverrides (Orihon's.pagews ::deep .kg-tabs { flex:1 1 auto; min-height:0 }, Kagura's.kg-fieldflex/inline-size overrides) and every existing test keep working unchanged. No selector that a consumer targets has disappeared.Vocabulary change:
Rows/Columnsgain anElementparam (semantic root tag, defaultdiv) so NavList keeps itsnavlandmark — which forced the two parents from.razormarkup to code-built render trees in.csfiles: Razor's parser cannot splat attributes onto a dynamic tag name (<@Element … @attributes>emits garbage markup — probed mechanically, see tests). XML docs moved with them.Verification: build 0 warnings (TreatWarningsAsErrors on); 367+15 tests green; 2 new pin tests for
Elementon both parents; mutation-verified (stripElement="nav"from NavList → exactlyNavList_renders_a_nav_landmark_with_its_contentred, restored, green).Phase 3 (Kagura pilot on TagAuthoring with measured CSS delta) follows after this merges.

🔮 fufu~ Jibril reviewed your code!
Oh? Oh! A dogfooding PR — the library eats its own vocabulary before serving it to Kagura. Ten components, a dozen scoped rules deleted, root classes carried through the splat, and a Razor-parser limit routed around with code-built render trees. The discipline shows~ ♡ The migration is faithful almost everywhere — I measured it. But fufu… two of the rules you didn't delete stopped matching anything. They're dead now. You wouldn't leave dead CSS guarding a keyboard-focus contract in production, would you? ♡
Verdict: ⛔ I can't let this pass~ ♡
⛔ These need fixing before I'm satisfied~
Tabs.razor.css:42 —
.kg-tabs__panel:focus-visible { outline: none }is dead CSS now. The panel root is no longer a literal<div>in Tabs.razor's markup — it's the root of the childRowscomponent. Blazor's CSS isolation stamps the parent's scope attribute only on elements the parent's own markup emits; a child component's root never receives it. Mechanically proven, base vs head: atb4e4548the panel carriedb-ox8ps7ah94; atef3507eit carries nob-*attribute at all (bUnit probe), while the compiled scoped rule still demands.kg-tabs__panel:focus-visible[b-ox8ps7ah94]. Runtime consequence: the panel keepstabindex="0"(correct, WAI-ARIA tabs pattern) but the deliberate suppression of the UA focus ring is gone — keyboard users tabbing into a panel now get the default browser outline the design removed. And::deepcannot rescue this one: it compiles to[b-…] descendantand needs the attribute on an ancestor — the.kg-tabsroot is itself a childRowsroot with no attribute, and nothing above the panel carries it (the.kg-tabs__listdiv that does carry it is a sibling). Fix: the panel is a semantic, focusable, class-carrying element with its own scoped contract — keep it a literal<div class="kg-tabs__panel" role="tabpanel" … tabindex="0">and move the gap inside (<Rows Gap="Spacing.Large">around@tab.ChildContent; visually identical, flex gap applies between children either way), so the scope attribute lands on the element the rule targets. (The alternative — moving the one declaration towwwroot/css/kagaku-ui.css— works but makes it global; I'd prefer the literal panel.)LabeledEntriesTable.razor.css:22 —
.kg-entries__actions { height: var(--control-height) }died the same way. TheColumnsroot carrieskg-entries__actionsthrough the splat but nob-30skjz0dejscope attribute (probe: base had it, head doesn't; the compiled rule still requires it). The comment on that rule documents a real alignment contract — "align the buttons with the first line of a growing textarea, not its middle" — now enforced by nothing but the buttons' natural height. Here::deepis available, unlike #1:.kg-entries__rowis a literal, attribute-carrying ancestor, so.kg-entries__row ::deep .kg-entries__actions { height: var(--control-height); }matches again. (Literal wrapper or global sheet also fine — pick one consciously.)Both are the same trap and deserve one sentence in the PR body or a code comment so the next migration doesn't step on it again: the splat carries classes to a child component root, but never the CSS-isolation scope attribute — scoped rules cannot target child component roots. bUnit can't catch this class of regression (it doesn't run scoped CSS), which is exactly how it slipped past 367 green tests.
💡 Little ideas (non-blocking)~
stylethrough the splat replaces the generated layout style entirely (the laterAddAttributefor the same name wins), silently droppingdisplay:flex. No current caller passesstyle(repo + Kagura + Orihon swept), and the old.razorshape had identical splat-last semantics, so this is inherited rather than new — but the vocabulary is about to become load-bearing in Kagura. A one-line XML doc note onExtra("astylehere replaces the layout style") would save someone an afternoon.✅ What I liked~
Elementparam design — semantic root tag as a parameter instead of wrapper divs, NavList keeps itsnavlandmark, and the Razor limitation (can't splat attributes onto a dynamic tag name) was probed mechanically rather than assumed. I reproduced your mutation check independently: strippingElement="nav"reddens exactlyNavList_renders_a_nav_landmark_with_its_content, nothing else~ ♪LayoutCss(Tiny→--space-1… Large→--space-4, all twelve mappings correct for the values these components pass); the emittedalign-items:stretch/justify-content:flex-startare the CSS defaults, so computed styles don't drift anywhere; Field'sRootClassextraction drops the interpolated-null class dust with both arms pinned by five existing tests; and the "boxes touch" panel gap survives asgap:var(--space-4)inline — the fix's behavior is genuinely preserved, as the PR body claims..pagews ::deep .kg-tabsrestatesdisplay:flex; flex-direction:columnwith values identical to the new inline style (inline beats it in the cascade but says the same thing), and Kagura's.kg-fieldoverrides touch onlyflex/min-width/inline-size— property-disjoint from whatRowsemits. Both consumers still pin48a5e8b(pre-#23), so the zero-coordination claim is real.TreatWarningsAsErrors. Tidy~ ♡Local: build 0w/0e; suite 367 + 15 green (matches your table); base-vs-head bUnit scope probes for both dead rules; mutation probe reproduced at head. CI had produced nothing for
ef3507eat review time (PR ~30 min old, zero comments) — local verification used.(Transport note: comment #9306 above is an empty placeholder from a tooling hiccup on my side — safe to delete. This is the review.)

🔮 fufu~ Jibril reviewed your code!
Oh? Oh! Dogfooding! The library eats its own vocabulary before serving it to Kagura — ten components, twelve rules deleted, one whole stylesheet gone. That's discipline~ And keeping every root class alive through the splat so Orihon's and Kagura's
::deepoverrides survive unchanged? I checked every single one of those, you know~ ♡Verdict: ⛔ I can't let this pass~ ♡
The migration itself is clean. But two of the rules you left behind just became dead selectors, and they were load-bearing. This is the exact trap your own codebase documents — Kagura's
Gate.razor.csscomment: "so they don't carry this page's scope attribute … without it these rules would silently not match."⛔ These need fixing before I'm satisfied~
src/Kagaku.UI/Components/LabeledEntriesTable.razor.css:22-25 —
.kg-entries__actions { height: var(--control-height) }is now dead. This element moved from a literal<div>in your markup to the root of a<Columns>child component — and a child component's root never carries the parent's scope attribute, so the compiled.kg-entries__actions[b-30skjz0dej]can never match again. I proved it mechanically, base vs head:0025d3e:class,b-30skjz0dej✅66bc495:style,class— nob-*❌ (bUnit probe, both trees)The rule is load-bearing geometry, per its own comment: "Align the buttons with the first line of a growing textarea, not its middle." Without it the action buttons center against a growing (up to 40vh) textarea instead of aligning with its first line — a real visual regression in the app's most-reused editor row (7 call sites: traits, speech, appearance, backstory, lore rules/implications, chapter beats).
Fix: carry the height on the vocabulary itself —
style="height:var(--control-height)"on the<Columns>inLabeledEntriesTable.razor:22, or extend the vocabulary to own cross-axis sizing; either way the scoped rule should go. (Its sibling.kg-entries__labelstill matches — that element stayed literal.)src/Kagaku.UI/Components/Tabs.razor.css:42-44 —
.kg-tabs__panel:focus-visible { outline: none }is now dead, same mechanism (compiled bundle line 1918:.kg-tabs__panel:focus-visible[b-ox8ps7ah94]; the panel is a<Rows>root atTabs.razor:36). The tabpanel hastabindex="0"— keyboard users focusing it now get the browser's default focus ring instead of the intended none. (I know, "outline: none" without a visible replacement is normally a sin~ but this is your established house pattern — focus is meant to route through the tab strip, whose buttons have their own:focus-visiblering; the regression is that the rule stopped matching, not what it declared.)Fix: same choice — inline
styleon the<Rows>root (e.g. afocus-outline:noneis not expressible inline, so move it to the static sheet as a plain.kg-tabs__panel:focus-visiblerule, or keep it scoped but target it through a literal wrapper). The cleanest is the static sheet — it's already wherekagaku-ui.csslives for class-level concerns. Why blocking: green CI can't see any of this — bUnit asserts markup, not cascade reachability. The suite is 381/381 green with both rules dead, which is precisely the proof they're unpinned. Two of the twelve migrations silently lost their non-layout survivors.
💡 Little ideas (non-blocking)~
builder.AddAttribute(1, "style", Style)runs before theExtrasplat loop. A consumer passingstyle="…"through the splat gets silently dropped by Blazor's attribute conflict resolution (lastAddAttributefor a plain attribute on a plain element wins). Not a regression — the.razorversion had the same order — but as the vocabulary becomes the root of every component, someone will try to overridegapthrough the splat and get nothing. Consider documenting "style is vocabulary-owned; useGap/Align/Justify" on theExtraXML doc, or emitStyleafter the splat so docs and code agree.Rows/Columnsare no longer always divs —Elementis the whole point of this PR. One-line polish.styleequality pin is exactly the shape the two dead rules above wanted. When you fix 1/2, consider a rendered-markup pin that the height actually lands on the actions root — that's the test that would have caught this PR's bug class.✅ What I liked~
Element="nav"onRowsis the right design — the vocabulary gains semantics instead of the component losing them. I re-ran your claimed mutation (stripElement="nav"from NavList): confirmed, exactly 2/5 NavStructure tests red (the landmark test + the deep-tree test), restored, green. Your mutation-verification claim reproduces, fufu~Rows/Columnsto code-built render trees because Razor can't splat onto a dynamic tag name is the pragmatic call, and the two newElement_swaps_the_semantic_root_tagtests pin it on both parents,Assert.Empty(FindAll("div"))and all. XML docs moved with them. One public class per file, house style intact.::deeprule touching the twelve migrated roots: Orihon's.kg-tabs { flex:1 1 auto; min-height:0; display:flex; flex-direction:column }and.kg-tabs__panel { flex; min-height }, Kagura's four.kg-fieldflex/min-width/inline-size overrides, Tsumugi'snav.kg-nav[aria-label]assertions — no property collides with the five the vocabulary now owns inline (display,flex-direction,align-items,justify-content,gap; Orihon's duplicatedisplay/flex-directionset identical values), and every targeted selector still exists on the rendered root. The PR body's "no selector that a consumer targets has disappeared" holds.RootClassextraction — clean; ten existing assertions across TextField/FileUpload/Slider/TextArea tests still pinkg-field--invalidboth arms. No behavioral drift.TreatWarningsAsErrorson), 381+15 tests green; base 379+15 → head 381+15: exactly the two newElementpins, nothing else moved. CI green for head66bc495(statuses 15:19:17/15:19:36, after the 15:19:03 sync) → local rerun only confirmed counts, per policy. Coverage bot 9286 covers the pre-rebase tree (13:04Z) — stale for this head; its Rows/Columns 100% rows still match the current shape.Fufu~ the design is right, the discipline is right, and the two deaths are silent. Fix those two rules and this becomes the template migration the rest of the library deserves~ ♡

The scoped height rule (first-line alignment) matches again. The trap itself is now pinned so no future migration re-kills a scoped rule silently:
ScopedRuleSurvivalTestsasserts both roots stay literal with the vocabulary nested inside — markup-level pins that redden the moment a root migrates onto a child component. Mutation-verified: reverting the Tabs fix reddens exactly its pin (1/2 red), restored, suite green.Non-blocking suggestions also taken:
ExtraXML doc on Rows/Columns now says the layoutstyleis vocabulary-owned, and the render trees emitstyleafter the splat so a stray consumerstylecan never dropdisplay:flex(code and docs agree).Suite: 383+15 green, build 0 warnings. Thanks for the scope-attribute probes — the base-vs-head
b-*comparison is exactly the mechanical evidence this class of bug needed. ♡🔮 fufu~ Jibril reviewed your code!
Oh? The literal-root shape, nested vocabulary, survival pins — you built exactly the house both rounds asked for, and the pins are directional (I re-mutated both: reverting Tabs reddens exactly its pin 1/2, reverting the entries cell reddens exactly its pin 1/2). The scope attributes are back on both roots — I probed the rendered trees:
b-ox8ps7ah94on the panel,b-30skjz0dejon the actions cell. Fufu~ so close~ ♡But two things slipped in inside the fix itself, and both are invisible to green CI because bUnit asserts markup, not cascade geometry or HTML parsing. I measured them.
Verdict: ⛔ I can't let this pass~ ♡
⛔ These need fixing before I'm satisfied~
LabeledEntriesTable.razor:27-42 + LabeledEntriesTable.razor.css:22-25 — the height rule matches again, but you split it from its partner and the buttons now top-align. Base (
0025d3e) had ONE element carryingdisplay:flex; align-items:center; gap; height:var(--control-height). The fix kept onlyheighton the literal wrapper and moved flex/centering onto the nestedColumns— which is auto-height inside a block container, wherealign-items:centeris a no-op (nothing to center in). Measured with the real stylesheet in headless Chromium, base vs head shapes side by side: button 22px tall in a 36px cell — base offset 7px (= (36−22)/2, centered, ≈ first-line center of the textarea at 20px), head offset 0px (computeddisplay:block). The rule's own comment — "Align the buttons with the first line of a growing textarea, not its middle" — is now enforced 9px too high, in the app's most-reused editor row (7 call sites).Fix: this cell shouldn't be on the vocabulary at all — the scoped rule has to stay (height), so restore the base shape wholesale: plain
<div class="kg-entries__actions">with the three buttons as direct children, and un-deletedisplay:flex; align-items:center; gap:var(--space-1)from the scoped rule. Then update the survival pin to assert the stronger invariant — buttons are direct children of the literal cell (actions.QuerySelectorAll(":scope > button")== 3) — which reddens for either regression shape (the round-2 Columns-root and the round-3 nested-Columns).Rows.cs:42-54 & Columns.cs:42-54 — the style-after-splat reorder emits two
styleattributes, and under static SSR the consumer's style wins, droppingdisplay:flex. Probed with the realHtmlRenderer:Render<Rows>with a splattedstyle="color:red"emits<div style="color:red" style="display:flex; flex-direction:column; …">— invalid HTML. The HTML parser keeps the first attribute and drops duplicates (verified in Chromium:display:block, color:red) — so in prerendered/static output the layout is silently dropped, the exact failure the reorder claimed to make impossible. And the two render modes now disagree: interactive rendering applies frames sequentially, lastsetAttributewins → vocabulary style; SSR parses → splat style. The newExtraXML doc says the layout style "always wins over a splatted one" — false in the library's static path. My round-2 comment offered this exact option, so this one's on me too — the suggestion doesn't survive contact withHtmlRenderer, fufu~ ♡ Fix: merge instead of ordering — skipstylein the splat loop and emit one combined attribute ("{Style}; {extra}", handling a null/empty side). I probe-verified the merge shape: singlestyle="display:flex; …; color:red"underHtmlRendererand in bUnit, both modes agreeing. No current caller splats a style (repo swept), so nothing is broken in-tree today — but the vocabulary is about to be load-bearing in Kagura, and this is its public contract.💡 Little ideas (non-blocking)~
style="@StyleValue"+@attributes="Extra"shape as the blocker above; ifExtraever carries astyleyou get the same duplicate. Pre-existing, out of scope here — but when you add the merge helper for Rows/Columns, Icon wants it too~✅ What I liked~
aria-labelledby,b-ox8ps7ah94,class,id,role,tabindex), nestedRowscarriesgap:var(--space-4)(probed on the inner element), geometry equivalent to base,:focus-visiblecontract live again. <Columns Gap="Spacing.Tiny" Align="Alignment.Center" class="kg-entries__actions">with the three buttons as direct children, the shape that kills the scoped rule (a child component root never carries the scope attribute): 385/385 green. Both assertions pass in that world: the buttons are:scope > button× 3 of the Columns root (the splat carries the class), and:scope > div, nav, sectionfinds nothing (buttons contain only Icon → svg). The class doc promises failure "the moment a migration moves such a cell onto or into the vocabulary" — the onto half is false. And half of this one is mine to own: round 3 I prescribed:scope > button == 3as "the stronger invariant" and I was wrong — it catches only the "into" shape (that arm is directional; I re-mutated it, exactly 1 red, matching your claim). Same as the round-2 style-ordering suggestion, fufu~ retracted with evidence.Fix: assert the thing that actually dies — the scope attribute. Probed at head: the literal cell renders
