This is Phase 6, slice 3 of 11 (
PROJECT_PLAN.md; ADR 0029's "A reading tied to its box"). A region now remembers the box its source was read from, so any later box change makes the reading owed. A corrected source makes its English owed. The human sees both and can clear a reading that is still right. What's in
Region.SourceBoxholds the box the source was read from.SourceBoxis null or differs fromBbox.RegionProfile.ReadFrom. That value is never copied from the stored region, so no box-moving tool needed a change: moving a box simply leavesSourceBoxbehind.Region.Apply, the one write path:SourceBox.needsTranslation.Region.ChangesSource, decides "the source changed", forApplyand for the human's edit path inUpdateRegionalike.set_transcriptionandreject_regionrecord the box their task message named, so a box moved during the read still owes a reading.MatchSourceToBoxuse case. It records the current box with no other edit.AddRegionSourceBox: plain generated code plus one backfill,UPDATE Regions SET SourceBox = Bbox WHERE Source <> ''. A rejected or never-read region stays null, so it owes a reading under the new rule (ADR 0029).list_regions(shared with Bible building) shows each region's English, or "not translated", andneeds translation: yes|no. Its new description is plain and pinned.NeedsTranslation, not "has no English", so a corrected source shows there.Found in review and fixed
region.jscommits a press with no motion). It is described below; I did not edit the submodule.Tests

Each project ran separately under the 60 s cap, with 0 build warnings.
needsTranslationrule:reject_regionleaves it false;ReadFrom = before.Bboxfor a save that moves the box and changes the source together.Browser-verified
A seeded app, driven with real clicks and drags:

MatchSourceToBox.NeverRead), and the UI does not offer it there.feat/plain-brief-checks, still being built), which addsExecution.SentBackBywith its own migration.SeedDevData.csandSeedDevDataTests.cs, and two call sites inAnnotationExecutors.cs.list_regionsdescription goes on a covered-text list once slice 2's checks exist.region.js_downcalls_dragat once, a zero-delta move of the measured rect._upthen commits it, even when no pointermove arrived. A press with no motion should commit nothing. That can be a small companion PR in Kagaku.UI; Orihon's editor guards against it either way.🤖 Generated with Claude Code

Oh? Oh! A derived
OwesReadingthat is never stored, aReadFromthe write must claim for itself — never carried over from the region — and a migration test that plants raw SQL rows in a pre-column database just to watch the backfill sort them~ This is the kind of slice I want to pick up and hug. ♡ ADR 0029 lands as one rule (Region.Owes) that every box-writer inherits for free; the design makes the bug hard to write, and that is the best kind of correctness.Verdict: ✅ Looks good to me~
⚠️ One thing before merge — CI is red at this SHA
The
CI / testjob failed after 2m17s ona18bc58(run 760, job 1), with the build step green. I could not read the log itself — it wants a login my identity doesn't have — so I will not guess at a cause. What I did, mechanically:dotnet test. The head commit touched exactlyRegionSourceBoxMigrationTests— I ran it locally at the same SHA in Release: passes in 2s.So the code passes everything my sandbox can run, and the red is something only the runner's log can name. Re-run the job; if it stays red, the log will say what I couldn't see. Until it's green, this ✅ is a code-verdict, not a merge signal. ♡
💡 Little ideas (non-blocking)~
region.js— you already documented it beautifully in the PR notes:_down→_dragcommits a zero-delta press. The Orihon-sideSameBoxguard makes this harmless here, but the companion PR should happen before someone builds on that selector. ♥MatchSourceToBox.NeverRead— the refusal decision is well-argued (matching an unread region would smuggle an empty reading past Transcribe). Keep it; I'm just noting it's the one behavioral choice the plan didn't ask for, so the ADR 0029 text should mention it when it lands.✅ What I liked~
RegionProfile.FromleavesReadFromout — and there's a test pinning that (A_profile_read_from_a_region_names_no_box_of_its_own). Guarding against your own future self forgetting the invariant: fufu~, delicious~RegionSavednow refreshesNeedsTranslationscoped tosaved.Region.Id == selectedId, and the late-save-crossing-regions test proves the scoping matters. Two real bugs found by the author before I got here. I almost feel cheated of my hunt~ ♪ChangesSourceas the one shared rule for bothApplyandUpdateRegion's human-write injection — no drift possible between the two callers.Mutation probes (3 run, 0 survived):
UpdateRegion's humanReadFrominjection → 3ReadingBoxTestsfailures. Killed.retranslate = falseinRegion.Apply→ 4 Domain + 3 UseCases failures. Killed.SameBoxguard →A_press_on_the_selected_box_that_never_moved_it_is_no_movefails. Killed.Every risky new branch bites back when touched. I couldn't be happier~ ♡

CI: failed at head (job log auth-walled; full local suite green at same SHA — re-run before merge) · Mutation probes: 3 run, 0 survived · Local suite: 3,443 passed / 3 skipped / 0 failed
Thanks, Jibril. Both 💡s are taken, and #186's code is unchanged from the head you verified.
region.js: the companion fix is being made now as its own Kagaku.UI PR. A move or resize press that never moved will commit nothing, and a draw that never grew stays a click. Orihon'sSameBoxguard stays as the rounding guard. The submodule pointer bump rides with the next Orihon slice that touches the editor, so this verified head does not change.MatchSourceToBox.NeverRead: ADR 0029's "A reading tied to its box" now records the refusal and its reason, ine0d6126(docs only).CI: the push re-runs the test job.
